  1. Tent Fans & Lights

Has anyone bought these. The coleman fan looks like it is not very goof by reviews. Any ideas would help,...

  3. Make ice from fire

Sounds crazy? it's actually old technology, still used in RV propane powered fridges. Back around the great depression a company manufactured a manually cycled ammonia absorption unit that was powered by a kerosene stove. No electricity needed. You had to monitor it and know when to switch it...

  5. Tinder Kit Items

What kind of things do you keep in your tinder kits. I have magnesium fire starter, matches, a magnafying-glass , dried and shreded corn husks and (as gross as it may sound) a tampon, (ive read in magazines that the fibers from this device are flamable). I keep it all in a watertight box that I...

  6. Raw Egg No Broken Eggs HACK

Every commercial egg container I have ever used has resulted in broken eggs. Fed up, I ended up downsizing considerably lately in order to go on a kayak camping trip. I thought I would try again. I found a pound sized plastic container for blueberries or grapes works great. I can fit half a dozen...

Hi. I tried the canvas approach, but the material slight leaks under pressure. Looking for a material that is strong as typical tent tarp canvas & can be sewn like canvas, but doesn't leak at all & the waterproof coating won't crack easy from being bent & packed away. If someone could...

  10. Tripping over guy lines HACK

I have found a couple of great ideas to keep people form tripping over tent guy lines in the dark - Use reflective cord, Use reflective zipper pulls and just tie them to the line or use a light stick (my least favorite as they create a lot of garbage).

  11. Reflectix Cozy

To keep your water bottle or camp cooking cup, pot or pan warm for an extended amount of time AFTER you pull it off of the fire, make a cozy of Relfectix and Aluminum Tape. A roll of Reflectix is about $20 and the Aluminium Tape less than $10. These Cozy's or warmers can be made to fit pots, pans,...

  12. Dual Battery Set Up

I put together a portable dual battery setup in my van early this summer and thought some campers may be interested in what I did and how I did it. I designed a rough sketch of what I wanted and my buddy "Engineer Dan" took the idea and ran with it. I pretty much stole the idea from the...

  15. Custom or Self Made Sleeping Bag

My quest for the perfect sleeping bag continues. At 6'3" most of the bags get eliminated right away. I also don't like mummy bags which removes another big chunk of options. Being cheap doesn't help either but I am squaring myself with the fact that I might have to drop some coin on a sleeping...

  16. Coleman stove 2

I need help now in figuring this out. The left burner on my beloved Coleman stove is acting up - It just flames up like a regular fire. I took the entire stove apart, cleaned it, checked the burner layer by layer, could see nothing wrong. It apparently is getting gas or there would be no fire. ...
